Culture's Thoughts: A nation Divided

Hey guys, Culture Shock here, your guide to all thing's pop cultural in Equestria and beyond. Normally I try to keep a chipper mood in my posts but as of lately, I've decided to tackle more serious issues out there instead. Just so I can get my opinion out there at the least. This next topic is partially something I've been mulling over in regards to the brony fandom. But at the same time it effects an greater scale than just fandoms. Before I get started I just wanna remind you all of a few rules. First off, all content within this blog is strictly the opinion of it's author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the general consensus. Lastly, if any of you notice ANY mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to alert me. With that in mind, let's get started.

So at first this initial blog was going to be about depression and bullying within the fandom. Of course that can still be a general topic for another day, but I felt recently that there's so much more beyond fandoms to discuss. Specifically, the status of society today not just within the US, but the world itself. I mean, bullying is a problem enough effecting most kids today. Though compared to most problems facing the world today it's nothing short of a drop in the bucket.

Of course the largest source of issues relates to America and it's morals as of late regarding foreign policies. Mostly having to do with immigration and racial prejudice. Which frankly, isn't the type of land the founding fathers had for this country. Let alone for it's surrounding brothers.

The US once stood for freedom of equality, liberties, and so much more. But I fear that overtime, negative influences from powerful corporations, and corrupt politicians, have warped and overall diminished the image this country once stood for, And for what reason may I ask? Bigotry. Bigitry, racism, and economic supremacy.

That's not to say it's still all bad. There are still so many people out there willing to fight for what's right. Willing to stand up for the oppressed and mislabeled. Those are the people we should turn to. Not these rich, over-saturated bigots and racist cowards. America should continue to stand as a united community that can rise above social superiority and come together under one united way of life.

In conclusion, with all the chaos and corruption in the world, a simple act is all it takes to set off a chain reaction of good. This has been Culture Shock, your guide to all things pop cultural in Equestria and beyond, reminding you to stay calm and brony on. Peace.
