My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issues 5 - 8

HELLOOO and welcome to Culture's Compendium of Reviews! As always I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today we continue our look into the MLP comic universe. Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of it's author. It does not nor should it ever reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if you notice any mistakes, be it a typo or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said let's move on, shall we?

My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic issues 5 - 7. Also known as the Nightmare Rarity Arc. This also marks the first comic appearence of best pony and princess, Luna. It also helps answer a lot about her past dueing her banishment.

I loved how Heather Kuhfer and Amy Mebberson came together for such a dramatic tale. However, I personally felt some of the dialogue was either forced or short. Though it didn't really hurt the story all too much.

I also loved how the finale ended with such a positive message. Fear is a part of life. Never let it control you. Rarity's fear played into role as the element of generosity. She was afraid of not being helpful to others and forgotten. A fear not uncommon to socially active people. And like any other fear its hard to overcome sometimes.

Just like Fluttershy, Rarity strives to embody her element. Sometimes a little too much. Which is what made her such an easy target. Thankfully Twilight and the others manage to pull of a miraculous rescue. Proving you don't need a deus ex machina to win. You just need the power of frienship to conquer any darkness.

Alright! That concludes my weekly comic review. I definitely enjoyed seeing my favorite pony in action and recommend this to any Luna or Nightmare Moon fans out there. Overall I give the Nightmare Rarity Arc a well earned 9 / 10. I hope you guys enjoyed this review. I do apologize for it being late and a bit rushed. I just recently found a temporary content source but I'm still open for suggestions. In the meantime be sure to leave a like and feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments for a future reviews.
