Yugioh EQG by Banshee531

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we get our game on for a high stakes adventure about a children's card game..... IN MLP!!! However, there are a few rules to go over before we get started. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, NOR should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice ANY mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Yugioh EQG is a crossover story that takes place in the Equestria Girls reality. Written by Banshee531, the story follows Flash Sentry's quest for answers on a life altering journey. After receiving a mysterious deck and duel disk, Flash is drawn back into the world of dueling. Along the way he manages to make new friends and reconcile with his younger sister, Scootaloo. But when a mysterious stranger starts targeting Flash there whole world gets turned upside down. Now it's a race to find out the truth where Flash and his friends will have to face off against some tough competition. Will Flash find his answers? And most of all, what does it have to do with his missing parents?

First off, props to Banshee531 for such a creative take on a cross between the popular card game yugioh and MLP. Though I also give him extra points for making Flash Sentry not suck as the protagonist. As I said earlier, the story is mainly set in an AU of Equestria Girls where a children's card game is more popular than alternate realms with talking equines. The story itself is okay but borrows a lot of it's plot from Arc - V and Zexal. As well as some subplot from the original series.

I think the most fitting lesson to this story is that you are the master of your own fate. Never be afraid of what lies ahead on the road of life. Just grab onto with both hands and hold on tight as your pendulum swings toward victory.

To sum it all up, as I said earlier, this IS by far an interesting story full of action and adventure. There are some moments where things drag on, mostly around the filler chapters, but the pace usually recovers somewhere in the following chapter. Aside from the multiple grammar and spelling errors the story still managed to be immersive both inside and out. And the addition of custom cards for each character was another nice twist. That being said I look forward to even from its sequel titled Yugioh EQG: Shadow Gates.

Alright! This concludes my review of Yugioh EQG. Definitely a fun story for any yugioh player or fan of EQG. I highly recommend you check it out before the sequel. I give this fic an 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments section down below.
