My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #12

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we learn how self restraint and moderation often go hand in hand. However, there are a FEW rules to go over before we can get started. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it EVER, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if ANY of you notice ANY mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Friends Forever #12 is the 12th issue in IDW Publishing's 2nd mini-series. Written by Barbara Randall Kesel and accompanied by artist Brenda Hickey, the story pairs the studious princess Twilight Sparkle with the everlasting energy ball, Pinkie Pie. During Ponyvilles Annual Food Truck Invasion Pinkie comes to Twilight in need of dire help fighting her most deadliest of urges. The phenonomenons have landed and its up to Twilight to help the weak-minded Pinkie Pies. Can she do it? Or will Pinkie's cravings prove to much even for an alicorn?

So this issue was a little different. I mean, in a way it was the same as every Pinkie issue yet at the same time it wasn't. Granted the whole scheme sequence kind of felt more cartoonish than helpful. Especially given how obvious the solution was. On top of that, I find it odd how suddenly there's this new pastry even she can't take. I'm sorry to say but that just makes me question Hasbro's direction for Pinkie sometimes. Especially given how we've seen her eat whole cakes, whole pies, and just about whatever else Pinkie could put in front of her muzzle. Hence the term seefood diet.

I would say the message to this issue is pretty clear. An addiction is hard to kick. Especially ones like overeating. But sometimes the answer to your problems can be found right under your nose. Remember to have self restraint and know when enough is enough. Bust of all remember one thing. Moderation is key. Especially if you wanna look good for your next special occasion or if you you're trying to fit into that swimsuit for vacation.

Frankly, I still have a problem wrapping my head around this issue. Mostly with how hard it was to understand such simple solutions. Let alone the source of it all. I mean, how can you metaphorically say is bottomless and then turn around claiming some random pastry as her one true weakness. Let alone how it was stronger than even HER metabolism. Overall this issue is both confusing and a bit predictable to say the least. Hopefully the next issue will have a lot more t offer. Only time will tell.

Alright! This concludes my review issue 12. As I said earlier, this issue was both confusing and a bit too predictable for my kind of taste. I recommend reading another chapter if need be. If not then try another series at the very least. I give this issue a 7 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for future updates.
