Episode 9: Bridal Gossip....Be Careful of Who You Marry

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review I'll be covering season one's most controversial episode. Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of its author. With that said let's move on, shall we?

Episode 9: Bridal Gossip. An episode that's sparked a lot of debates. Personally, I see no major issue here. I mean sure there were problems with it but not enough to go wild about. And I've seen PPOV.

To start things off I can personally relate to the moral of this episode. You should never judge a book by its cover. Sure something can look bad on the outside but that doesn't mean its actually bad. Twilight and her friends acted too hastily and bought into the majority opinion. Applebloom on the other hoof was the real star of this episode. Rather than letting her sisters hysterics convince her she ponied up and followed her own gut. Showing that maturity and wisdom are lessons to live by.

Although I can't fault the episode like so many others have I can't help but notice two things. Number one being the audio. At first listen one would believe someone else was voicing Twilight. While Tara might not have been a 100% that still doesn't excuse bad audio quality. And finally there's Pinkies song. While hearing my second fave pony sing it in a jazzy tone was catchy I can't help but frown at it. Songs like that mostly come of as insulting or hateful. Especially to foreigners. I'll let it slide a little but I've got my claws ready in case of internet trolls.

Alright! That was my review of Bridal Gossip. Not fully sure why such a decent episode got so much hate. I do recommend this for people going through a similar problem.
