My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issues 21 - 22

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today we review a classic case of "right place, wrong time". Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's move on. Shall we?

Issues 21-22, aka The Manehatten Mystery, brings together author Ted Anderson and artist Agnes Garbowska for a ponified take on a classic tale of whodunit. It also marks the second appearance of Starlights one and only waifu, Trixie, and Appleblooms reformed cousin, Babs Seed.

The first thing to note here is the comics place in the shows story. It pics up not long after the events "Magical Duel" where Trixie nearly took over all of Ponyville. Nice to see Trixie living up to her promise instead of being an egotist like a certain rainbow haired mare at this point.

Like any other issue this comics moral is both wise and good advice. Don't judge others for their past mistakes. Who they were back then doesn't define them. Its who they become that matters. Trixie regretted her past and hoped to rectify it with a second chance. Fortunately she had a friend in Babs Seed to help her through it.

Aside from a lack of crossover cameos there weren't any notable issues with this comic. The moral was solid and decently delivered and the story had a mild pace. Though it was nice seeing the return of spyshy.

Alright! That concludes my review of The Manehatten Mystery. A mild read for detective show fans. I definitely recommend it if it interests you. I give issues 21 - 22 a 9.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed this review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Got a suggestion for a future review? Leave it in the comments below. Also don't forget to follow my blog for more updates.
