Power Rangers....a bootleg production

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today I'm taking a look at a series thats...less...than trash. Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of its author. With that said let's move on, shall we?

Power Rangers. A franchise idolized so heavily by kids and adults that makes me question life. Let me start off by stating I don't support this franchise train wreck. I would honestly prefer a rotting cow carcus to this crap. And I used to be a fan of it.

Power Rangers as a whole was a drunken mistake. Its creator, Haim Saban, is a prime example of giving diamonds to a monkey. Given he makes DECENT anime dubs thats not a great fact.

The shocking truth about this is that the show is actually a terrible remake of a successful Tokusatsu franchise. Super Sentai. For those who don't know. Super Sentai is a live action hero series from japan. The name "Sentai" translates to "Squadron" in in english. What makes this even worse is that Super Sentai started 15 years before Power Rangers was even a thought bubble. That means there were 15 teams we got deprived of. Still think its a good show?

Now before it gets brought up. Yes. I know the target audience was initially kids. But so were shows like My Little Pony, Lazytown, and so many others and look at their audiences.

Given the morals of the show are understandable that doesn't make for horrible quality. Super Sentai is good because it presents amazing action, immersive stories, and interesting characters. Power Rangers is nothing more than a glorified elementary school video about growing up and going to high school. That's not even counting the stereotypes it perpetuates.

In a nutshell the entire franchise failed in the first installment. Now thats not belittling the concept. I mean for the disney owned it the show had a micro-millimeter of legit quality. It may have still fell short but that's still an achievement. As it stands now I honestly don't see this showing going anywhere good in the future. And that's not a good sign. I only hope someday someone makes it worth watching. Till then I still have my sentai.

Alright! That was my review of Power Rangers. Literally just not happy with the series at all. I really don't recommend this to anyone. Even the target audience.
