Episode 12: Call of the Cutie...here cutie cutie

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we learn how friendships can forge the most simplest of issues. Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's move on. Shall we?

Episode 12: Call of the Cutie is a crucial point in the series. It arks the beginning of the next gen mane 6, The Cutie Mark Crusaders. A trio team of Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle. Oh the adorable terror.

The one thing that I loved about this episode is what it started. The CMC started out as three blank slated nobodies. Void of what makes a pony special. Their cutie marks. And over the span of the seasons they try just about everything till they get them. Looking back, you can't help but feel pride at such hard work.

The lesson to this episode can be summed up in one word. Patience. Good things come to those wait. Applebloom is so distraught in this episode about it that she can't even wait. It takes the help of new friends to learn that maybe some things are worth the wait.

Now this wasn't entirely a bad episode. It had some decent parts. But this was far from good. Mostly what irked was Appleblooms hypocrisy. I mean she acted like a spoiled brat all over a cutie mark. Yet what really bugged me was the recolors of Sweetie and Scoots in the beginning. One scene and then poof. Ninja substitution much?

Alright! This concludes my review of Call of the Cutie. A modest episode at best in my opinion. I recommend it only if you enjoy slice of life episodes. I give Call of the Cutie a simple 7 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed this review. Be sure to leave a like if you media. Also make sure to follow my blog for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments below.
