My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic issue 23
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we talk about how an unlikely team saves the day from an unlikely threat. Before we continue let me lay out the ground rules. Firstly, all content in this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's move on. Shall we?
My Little Pony: Frienship is Magic issue 23 is a single issue installment co-created by writer Jeremy Whitley and artist Amy Mebberson. In it Angel Bunny gathers together with his fellow domestic comrades for a daring rescue mission. Ponyville has been hypnotized by a Kelpie and its up to the pet 6 to save the day. Kinda reminiscent of Cats v Dogs.
My favorite part of this was the arteork. Heather Breckel does an amazing job giving life and creativity to Mebbersons masterpiece. Its no wonder the pair team togethet for so many issues.
The moral to such a short comic is a bit hard to guess. I'd say its probably that some deeds often go unnoticed. Angel put a lot of effort to rescue his owner Fluttrrshy and the other ponies from hypnosis yet nopony even noticed him. Thankfully he had 5 friends to give him a well deserved round of applause.
Normally, the issues I've read have a few fair issues. This one just had one big one. It was too short. Now I'm nlt saying filler issues are bad. No they can be a good distraction from a bad episode or issue. But this seemed more like a micro or a friends forever instead of a main comic issue. Not a huge problem but it can make it less interesting for readers.
Alright! That concludes my review of issue 23. Ignoring its length this is a decent and short filler worth reading. I reccomend for anypony who needs a break between issues. I give issue 23 a 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed this review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Got a suggestion for a future review? Leave it in the comments below. Also, don't forget to follow my blog for more updates.
