47 Ronin...legends live on
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we travel to the far east for a to learn a legend of true honor and courage. Before we begin, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
47 Ronin was a film dedicated to a long standing legend told throughout Japanese history. A tale of 47 masterless samurai who sought out revenge on a treacherous rival warlord. Blending both reality and fantasy Universal studios breathed new life into this exciting story.
My favorite part of this film was the setting. The set designers worked flawlessly to create perfect replications of feudal architecture. Add in the natural layout and it really catches the eye. It made the film all that much greater.
The biggest negative to the film was the casting. While Keanu's role as Neo in The Matrix was flawless I feel it didn't fit here. This is the flaw of many Americanized eastern films. What made it worse was that the remaining cast was Asian while the lead, Kai, was an American.
Alright! This concludes my review of 47 Ronin. A true masterpiece about an honorable tale. I truly recommend this to everyone. I give 47 Ronin a 9.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
