Cultures Contemplations: The Crusaders Struggle

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today I thought I'd change directions from general topic discussion to a more character focused direction. Or CHARACTERS in this case. Before we continue, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Today I wanted to highlight 3 characters that recently stood out in some of my reviews. The Cutie Mark Crusaders. Or more specifically the core group.

Throughout the seasons Sweetie Belle, Applebloom, and Scootaloo have gained both fans and haters alike. Their antics inspire and amuse viewers of all ages. But what makes them so special? To find that out we first have to look each member individually.

First off, let's look at Applebloom. Born as the youngest of three siblings Applebloom was raised on good morals like honesty, loyalty, and family. Sister to Applejack, the Element of Honesty, the young earth pony already has big shoes to fill. Of course it's somewhat harder when you grow up never knowing your parents. Which can really effect a child in many ways.

Next up is Sweetie Belle. Sister to the Element of Generosity, Rarity, Sweetie Belle grew up aspiring to be just like her big sis. Often times though, her determination to shine brighter ends up causing more trouble than intended. Add to that her lack of magical training and her apparent mental handicap and she easily becomes the weak link of the group.

Finally there's Scootaloo. As of yet there's not a lot of background on her. All that we do know is she's the only pegasus in her class who can't fly. Considering her surrogate sister and idol Rainbow Dash, the Element of Loyalty, is Equestrias fastest flier and a member of the Wonderbolts it's even more pressure on her than the others. On top of that we don't know if she has a family or not.

Looking closely, I think the CMC represent what means to grow up with so many expectations to live up too. Having to jump over so many hurdles just to get ahead in life. All while carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. It makes achieving ones dream difficult yet all the more rewarding in the end.

I feel that if the Cutie Mark Crusaders continue as they have been they could grow to be key elements to Equestrias growth and development. Hopefully as the series progresses we'll get to see more development for these three. And may there antics continue to entertain viewers for generations to come.

Alright! This concludes my CMC review. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also make sure you follow my blog for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
