My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issues #32 & 33

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we gear up to battle a fruity invasion. Before we begin, let's go over the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

MLP: FIM issues 32 & 33, aka Night of the Apple, is a horrifying mini - arc by writer Thom Zahler and artist Tony Fleecs. Reminiscent of the 1996 cult classic "Mars Attacks" it blends both sci - fi with suspense. A tale to keep any reader on edge.

The part most people will like about this is how the comic reminds readers of the shows roots. The events that started the story we've grown to love and introduced so many colorful characters. It also dug up fan favorite, Flutterbat.

The lesson in these issues is wisdom worth living by. The events of the past can effect the future in big ways. Be wary of what you do cuz it can impact others in different ways. Celestia and Luna's battle was a stone in the river of time. One that spawned a multitude of events in its wake. Though it stands as a learning point for them and the ponies it's effected over the ages.

With the good this comic does it doesn't hide the bad. While it is a suspense story it doesn't completely live up to it. The pacing is moderately slow and the character is less than tolerable at times. Granted it only lasts two issues it still could done a lot better with what it had.

Alright! This concludes my review of issues 32 & 33. A child friendly take on an old classic. I mostly reccomend for a leisurely read. I give Night of the Apples a 7 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also make sure you follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments below.
