My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issues 38 & 39
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we've packed our travel kit for an encounter in the great outdoors. Before we continue, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is the express opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or whatever, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
MLP: FIM issues 38 & 39 reunites the iconic duo of writer Christina Rice and long time artist Agnes Garbowska for a slice of life adventure involving everyones favorite filly trio, the CMC. Together with Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Snips, and Snails they have to brave the wilderness as they make their way back to their class field trip.
Being so heavily focused on the CMC I didn't really find myself investing my focus in the issues. Don't get me wrong though. I love how energetic and chaotic those fillies can be. Its just that without more support from more iconic or main characters the episodes and issues about them come of as mildly entertaining. Though I will admit their antics ARE adorable.
The lesson in these issues boils down to one thing. Sometimes you have to rely on the most unlikely aide to survive the toughest of situations. The whole adventure both Diamond Tiara and the CMC kept at each others odds. If they hadn't stuck together none of them would have lasted to the night. Thankfully things worked out for the better in the end. Even with Diamond's attitude.
Aside from my earlier summary there was one major negative to this story. Negligent adults. A question comes to mind after reading this. Where was Cheerilee, Rarity, and Applejack while this was happening? You'd think they would have noticed 7 missing children mid-trip. Yet another painful life lesson brought to you by Hasbro. Shame on you Larson....SHAAAAAME!!!
Alright! This concludes my review of these issues. Although it didn't seem all that good this story was decent and did well to teach it's lesson. I recommend this to any and all CMC fans. I give issues 38 & 39 a minor 7.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed this review. Be sure to drop a like if you did. Also make sure you follow my blog to stay updated. Got a suggestion for a future review?
