Episode 17: Stare Master....Nosferatu has competition

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we learn how strength is in the eye of the beholder. Before we begin, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. Episode 17: Stare Master was an interesting episode about one of my favorite ponies, Fluttershy. In it, she takes on of her most toughest challenges. Foalsitting the CMC during their Crusaders Sleepover. May Faust have mercy on her innocent soul.

I liked this episode because it reminded of a past Fluttershy episode called Dragonshy. In it Fluttershy manages to tame her timid fear when she was needed most. Similar to how she stared down the cockatrice to protect the Crusaders.

The main lesson here is also similar in part to episode 14: Suited for Success. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Always remember your limitations and accept what you can and can't do. Fluttershy thought she could handle the CMC because of her gentle and caring nature. Things almost didn't go as planned. But in the end it was her show of true courage that won the Crusaders respect. Finishing the night on an otherwise positive note.

One thing I didn't like about this episode was how quick it went by. Things jumped from one thing to a.other and soon it was already time for the credits. I also sorta didn't like how a little of the episode was copied from older episodes. Though I don't think it was all that bad in the end. Even for a CMC related episode.

Alright! This concludes my review of episode 17. While the episode did recycle scripting and plot from other episodes it DID feature Fluttershy in a positive role.
