My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #2
HELLOOO everybody and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we learn how the most unconventional is often the most stressful route. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
Friends Forever #2 is the 2nd issue in the IDW spin - off series. Co - created by writer Jeremy Whitley and artist Tony Fleecs, this issue teams the ever exuberant CMC with the lord of zany himself, Discord. After running out of options, the Crusaders enlist the help of Discord to find their cutie marks. Of course as with all Discord encounters chaos ensues and Ponyville is caught in the blast. Will the CMC succeed? Or is this feat beyond even Discords help?
Okay, so an interesting and unexpected issue for todays review. Especially considering such a random pairing. I mean you have the lord of chaos basically playing nanny to 3 hyperactive atomic bombs. Like watching Mrs. Doubtfire but ponified.
With as comedic as the issue was I think the lesson learned was rather sweet and caring. Finding your place in the world is tough. Especially when don't fit in anywhere. But that doesn't mean you should ignore the people trying to.help you. Remember to always take time to appreciate their efforts and thank them for it. A little kindness often goes a long way.
If I had to pick a favorite part I'd have to say the multitude of references the artists makes in one issue. Frankly, I feel that deserves an award. Though not as much when you remember they make up more than 3 quarters of the issue. That can be a double - edged sword, though, since its mainly there to just to progress the story and not for simple appeal
Alright! This concludes my review for Issue #2. Again, an unconventional idea. But I only recommend it for the references. I give this issue a 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
