Our Lady's Courtship by Rought_Draft

HELLOOO everybody and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guidr to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we're exploring an alternate world of how, when, where, and what if. Before we begin, however, let's review the rules. Our Lady's Courtship is a fanfic written by the aforementioned Rough_Draft. Written purely as a shipfic, the story is actually a " What if? " of their story titled Beauty, Books, and Butterflies. What if Rarity confessed her feelings? What if Twilight felt the same way about both mares? Would the story end the same way? Or will it bring something new to the table?

So, I only recently came across this fic during my previous fan review. I was mildly unsure of what to expect given the previous fics score. Surprisingly, I was well indulged. While the story wasn't as similar to the last one there are some vague hints and clues regarding the former in most of the chapters. Though reading it first isn't required since this isn't a sequel.

The biggest takeaway here is how this better emphasizes the struggles couples encounter and actively go through during their lives together. Whether it be a same sex couple or, in this stories case, a ménage à trois. Love is not bound any one true shape or form. It's meant to be shared by all regardless of the consequences. As long as all parties are consenting. Of course.

Ahhh. Picking the negatives in this is rough considering the prefvious fic. But necessary nonetheless. Mostly though the fic just suffers from mild grammar errors and slow pacing at the start. That aside I loved this fic openly and I pray to one day see it's sequel in the making.

Alright! This concludes my review of Our Lady's Courtship. A decent what if perspective of one of my all time favorites. While I do recommend I also recommend the previous story just as much.
