My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #3

HELLOOO everybody and welcome to.Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we're packing light for a rocky mountain adventure with an unlikely company. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Friends Forever #3 is the 3rd issue of the IDW comic series. A collaberation between writer Ted Anderson and artist Agnes Garbowska, this issue pairs the unlikely duo of Spike the dragon and Princess Celestia for a short yet decent issue. After enlisting the help of Princess Celestia, Spike sets out to retrieve pieces for a special birthday gift for Twilight. Along the way he learns that not all lessons can be found in a book. Can he and Celestia brave the mountains perils? Or have they bit off more than they can chew?

So for todays issue we get a pairing between to characters who get the least amount of actual character development. Usually I'd be pretty upset about it, but the pairing works considering both characters work best when playing off of someone else. Didn't make for the best story but it still gets a pass for its moral and a few funny scenes.

Surprisingly, I think Celestia said it best when she said "ponies' roles can change - a teacher can become an adventurer and a sidekick can become a leader." Meaning that, deep down, we have the potential to become more than what we are. All it takes is a little inspiration, some tough determination, and a strong imagination.

As far as problems go with this issue, there aren't that many. Granted neither Spike nor Celestia make the best topics for things mostly because they only perform best when paired with somebody else. And the pacing seemed kinda quick in some areas. But those aside I actually didn't have to much trouble with this issue. Though I doubt the pairing could last a second time

Alright! This concludes my review of Friends Forever #3. An okay read for when your bored or just for fun. I reccomend this mostly for time filler. I give this issue an 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments section down below.
