[Season 2] Episode 22: Hurricane Fluttershy.... is coming through
HELLOOO everybody and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we learn how the smallest act can have the biggest impact. Before we begin, however, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
Hurricane Fluttershy is the 22nd episode of season 2 and the 48th episode overall. Written by the talented Cindy Morrow, the story features Fluttershy as she takes on the ghosts of her past. When Ponyville is tasked with gathering water for the rainy season Rainbow enlists all the help she can get. But when shy little Fluttershy gets stage fright things get complicated. And only get worse thanks to a sudden case of the feather flu. Will the cream colored pegasus pull through? Or will the demons of her past keep her forever grounded?
I full on enjoyed this episode. Fluttershy is by far one of the easiest and best characters to write for in terms of appeal and character development. Morrow literally nailed Fluttershy's determination and will to help her friends in this episode. Which is what makes her such an inspirational character. As opposed to others *cough* RainbowDash *cough*.
I feel Fluttershys lesson on personal contributions is by far one of my favorites. It proves that no matter how little you may bring it can often make the biggest impact in the long run. And can even mean the difference between a total wipeout and a grand success.
Aside from the outdated educational ffilm, I don't feel like this episode had any issues. The pacing was on par. The moral was well written. And the dialogue was engaging. Just what you'd expect from any other Fluttershy episode.
Alright! This concludes my review of Hurricane Fluttershy. A sweet and uplifting episode well worth my highest reccomendation. I give this episode a 10 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
