A Bug in the Herd by Skijarama

In todays review, we learn how even the most coldest of hearts can be healed by the power of love. Before we begin, however, let's review the rules. A Bug in the Herd is a Chrysalis x OC shipfic written, and narrated by, Skijarama. Set after Season 6, the story follows the andventures of Tone Shift, an earth pony stallion, and Queen Chrysalis. After the events at her former hive, Queen Chrysalis wakes to find herself in the care of a former victim. As time goes something changes in the former ruler, leaving her to make a drastic decision for her and her captor. Will she learn to accept these new feelings? Or will she run from them?

So, this is an interesting story to follow. Granted, I've only found it as an audiofic voiced by the writer himself, Skijarama aka Tone Shift. But that doesn't make it any less of a worthwhile read. Especially given its unique approach tobsuch a stone cold character like Chrysalis.

I feel a story like this just goes to show that no one is incapable of loving someone else. It just takes a little love to show it.

As far as I can tell. There really are no negatives to this story. It's well paced. The pairing is unique. Aand the hints of playful banter really reveals a side of Chrysalis no fan has ever seen. Just another reason fan content often beats canon material any day.

Alright! This concludes my review of A Bug in the Herd. Definitely one of the most unique Chrysalis ships I've ever seen. And I highly recommend reading it for yourself. I give this fanfic a 10 / 10.
