[Season 2 FINALE] Episodes 25 & 26: A Canterlot Wedding... love is in danger

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we learn how even true love can be quite deceitful. However, there are a few rules before we begin. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice ANY mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

A Canterlot Wedding is the two - part finale to season 2 as well as the 51st and 52nd episodes overall. Written by Megan McCarthy, both episodes follow Twilight and the gang as they get set for the first royal wedding of the series. After receiving a shocking wedding invitation the mane 6 head off to Canterlot to plan the royal wedding of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, aka Cadence, and Shining Armor. But when her former foalsitter starts acting strange Twilight uncovers a dark plot that may put all of Canterlot in jeapordy. Will she crack the case and save her brother? Or is this Shinings wedding march of doom?

Okay, this was an oddly neutral pain in my hindquarters. So we've finally reached the first two - part finale of the series and it's a wedding. Though personally, I'd definitely want something like this for MY wedding. The drama was thick with mystery and intrigue and the action scenes where brilliantly depicted. Save for the final battle with the mane 6 of course.

Honestly, though I'm ashamed to admit it, I rather enjoyed the positive message in the finale. Love is a power that can weather any storm. A pure radiance that can pierce even the deepest darkness. And most of all it can overcome any evil.

Although this was a decent finale there are SOME negatives hidden amongst the positives. Mostly due to obvious cues to the viewers about the fake Cadence. And most of all was Chrysalis's cliche mistake of turning her back without finishing off her foes. Yeah, not bugbutt's smartest move. But villainess cliche's aside A Canterlot Wedding was an incredible finale and more than set the bar for seasons since then.

Alright! This concludes my review of A Canterlot Wedding. An action packed romance with an interesting soundtrack. Well worth any recommendation I could give. I give this finale a combined score of 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
