[Season 2] Episode 24: MMMystery On the Friendship Express... OBJECTION

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we're investigating a case that's too sweet to be true. However, before we begin there are a few rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

MMMystery On the Friendship Express is the 24th episode of season 2 and the 50th episode overall. Written by former show writer Amy Keating Rogers, this  episode follows the girls on a culinary caper aboard the friendship express. When the cakes award winning cake gets mutilated it's up to Pinkie and Twilight solve who did it. But when the clues start piling upp the duo finds there may be more than 1 culprit at large. Can they solve the case? Or has this mystery been licked clean?

So I have a lot of points on this episode to mention. But as for an overall opinion, I rather enjoyed it. The dialogue was funny at times as were the parodies from each account.  Though they were a bit campy at best and the overall tone was rather overdramatic for such a small, yet obvious case.

As far as the lesson here goes, I feel that Pinkie best when she said "you shouldn't always to conclusions". Take your time and review your case first. But most of all, make sure you have solid evidence to support your case. Otherwise you end getting the raw end of the deal.

There wasn't too much to complain about here. The pop culture references, while a bit campy, were tastefully enjoyable. And the dialogue fit easily with the episodes theme. Though I am a bit sour regarding how Pinkie was so quick to judge her competition BEFORE getting her facts straight. Just goes to show how even bakers can be ruthless when competition is involved.

Alright! This concludes my review of MMMystery On the Friendship Express. A funny yet serious combo worthy of a sweet recommendation. I give this episode a 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
