My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic issue #60

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we learn how to dance to beat of your OWN drum. However, before we get started there are a few rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

FiM #60 is the 60th issue of IDW publishing's main comic series. Written by Christina Rice and accompanied by artist Agnes Garbowska, this issue follows the CMC as they set forth helping others find their marks. When the niece of a Canterlot elitist comes to town the CMC are tasked with helping her find a mark to match her families legacy. But Gilded Lily has other plans in mind. Can the girls help her? Or will she crumble under the pressure?

Okay, so surprisingly enough, this was an enjoyable CMC related issue. It was nicely paced, pleasant to read, and most of all there wasn't a lot of immaturity amongst the group. It best respresented how far the trio has grown since they were blank flanks. And on an unrelated note I'm definitely becoming a fan of Garbowska's work.

I think a fitting moral here would be don't live in someone elses shadow all your life. Break free from those shackles and find your own path. Only then can you find what you're truly meant to do. And, in Gildeds case, never let it come between you and the people care about.

I'm happy this issue came out so well. Ever since Crusaders of the Lost Mark, Apple Bloom and her crew have come a long way since season 1. My only nitpick with this issue is how Sweetie and Apple Bloom keep shutting down Scootaloos ideas so quickly. It messes with the groups balance and goes against the shows meaning. That aside I look forward to more CMC adventures in the near future.

Alright! This conludes my review of issue #60. Definitely a positive change to the CMC's appearances and well worth a positive recommendation. I give this issue an 8.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments section down below.
