My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #9

HELLOOO EVERYBODY and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review, we learn just how important family truly is. However, there are a few rules to go over before we get started. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice ANY mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, please don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Friends Forever #9 is the 9th issue of IDW Publishings Friends Forever comic series. The story, written by Christina Rice with Tony Fleecs on art, features the return of the infamous Flim Flam Brothers. While vending at a local fruit converntion Granny Smith decides to check out their lesser valued competition. Along the way she crosses paths with a divided Flim and Flam. Only this time, it's not a con. Can Granny set aside the past to help mend the brothers hearts?

Okay, another roll with the Apple Family. This time we have the family matriarch, Granny Smith, paired with their former rivals, the Flim Flam Brothers. Only things are a bit different. As rather doing their normal act, Flim and Flam are at a crossroads with each other over troubles of the heart. Which makes for a softer tone involving the duo rather than the usual gawdy fanfare. Which is perfectly accentuated by Fleecs's traditional artstyle.

My favorite takeaway is how the issue teaches the true meaning of family. Mainly about not letting anything get between you and the ones you care for most of all. Nothing is worth losing a family member over.

I still say I loved how Tony Fleecs captured such simplistic emotions in his artwork. But what I am getting slightly.annoyed is how Granny Smith seems to know everything about anything. An admirable trait in the elderly but, much like Pinkies 4th wall breaks, it does get old after a while. Overall, a mild slice of life issue worth its weight in lead. Even with the blatant main cast and minor cast cameos.

Alright! This concludes my review. An okay issue for what it's worth and highly recommendable for anyone having family issues. I give this issue an 8.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a  suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments section down below.
