Cultures Contemplations: Commercialism in Romance

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we're analyzing the modern concept on the values of true love. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's get started. Shall we?

So, recently I posted up a review about an episode of MLP titled "Hearts and Hooves Day". Which was an episode set during a parody of Valentines Day and was based around the concept finding that special someone. Needless to say, it got a pretty bad score for obvious reasons. On top of that it left me thinking about how romantic holidays these days are less about the connection and more about the commercialism.

Now, don't anybody bite my head off over this. I support buying that special someone a gift every once in a while. But if its the only reason you're together then you really can't call it a relationship. Now can you?

Yeah, buying your girl.some flowers or spoiling her with some kind off trinket. But no your limits.  That goes both ways. There is such a thing as too much. And once you run out then chances are, so will they.

Though you can't entirely blame the couples themselves. Companies these days are always doing what they can to turn romantic into something profitable. Especially when it comes to those special moments.

But, such is the world these days. And while I don't entirely agree with the concepts. There are certain positives to all of it. So would this mean money truely can buy happiness? Who knows? But what I do know is that true love isn't about the money. It's about the emotional memories behind it all.

Alright! This concludes todays entry. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Be sure to.leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
