Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen

Today, we're flying overseas for a crossover event of the year. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen is a 2012 crossover film between the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series. The first in its series, the film featured a combination of new and classic characters alike from both shows respectively. The story begins after Captain Marvelous of the Gokaigers confronts and defeats the first 7 Kamen Riders when Tsukasa Kodoya, Kamen Rider Decade, approaches him. Both Rider and Sentai swear a vendetta against one other. Igniting a heated war between the two factions. Can they be stopped? Or will hop be erased in a sea of destruction?

Okay, to start off. For those of you who don't know, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are live action hero shows, or tokusatsu, created and filmed by Toei in Japan. Both of which are famed for their explosive action and engaging stories.

To be quite honest. Super Hero Taisen was, by far, the worst of the whole film series. And other fans believe so as well. Yet somehow it still somehow netted 18.9 million in US currency in the box office returns. Shocker.

In my honest opinion, the film suffers mostly due to halfbaked writing and adlibbed. Ryota Ozawa's portrayal of Captain Marvelous was half the effort. The same goes for Masahiro Inoue. Most of all, and finally, the plot sounded more like Marvel's Captain America: Civil War. Just with more explosions and a Michael Bay budget.

Alright! This concludes my review of Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen. A mouthful title for a less than adequate film. I recommend this only when your bored. I give this film a 4 / 10.
