Lullaby For A Princess

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we're looking at a song that speaks a thousand words. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Lullaby for a Princess is an original song written and recorded by the acclaimed brony musician Ponyphonic back in September of 2012. 3 years after its release, fellow artist and animator WarpOut re - released the song with a special animatic to accompany it. One night, while lowering the moon, Celestia recounts times long past. Grief stricken, she recounts a sister she once lost and the scars left behind by her own foolish pride.

I honestly have no words that could do justice for this song. Nor the raw untapped emotion both Ponyphonic and Warpout put into such an aesthetic masterpiece. Just everything about oozed the kind of emotion you wish more canon songs would have.

Honestly, stuff like this is generally why I love the fanon more than the canon. Lullaby For a Princess not only manages to draw out the viewers deepest emotions, but at the same time it helps to show the more weaker side to Princess Celestia. A side that gives a character so much more depth.and a lot of room for growth in the future. Take notes Hasbro. This is how you do it.

To date the song does have two response videos. Both of which are written and sung from Luna's perspective. Could we see them in an animatic sometime soon? Idk. But content creators can often surprise you.

Alright! This concludes my review of A Lullaby For a Princess. A truely powerful and emotional song about true hardships and painful sacrifices. I recommend you give it a listen. I give this song a perfect 10 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
