My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #1
HELLOOO everypony and welcome.to Cultures Compendium of Reviews. As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we learn how can be both a passion as well as entertaining. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
The Pie's the Limit is the 1st issue of IDW's My Little Pony: Friends Forever comic series. A collaboration between writer Alex De Campi and artist Carla Speed McNeil, the issue features a team up between both Pinkie Pie and Applejack. While competing in the Equestrian Super Chef Competition both Pinkie and Aj make a vow to help a fellow competitor win and achieve her dreams. But when a spiteful chef threatens the event its up to our hero's to serve up some justice. Can they save the day? Or are their gooses cooked?
Okay. I honestly got a kick out of this issue. For then Pinkie being in it of course. I enjoyed the lively colors of the artwork and the simple and soft tone of the dialogue. Not to.mention the celebrity cameos from people like Guy Fieri, Paula Deen, and Julia Child. Though we could have skipped the Ryan Seacrest pony.
I feel that personally is that cooking isn't always about perfection or process. But rather enjoying every step of it. But most of all it's about the love and care that goes into every dish. No matter the size.
Frankly, I enjoyed a lot of this issue. The pacing was decent. The characters were tolerable, save for the host. And the morals were wholesome. In a way, it kinda makes cooking look like less of a hassle and more of an enjoyment. And that's something we can all sink our teeth into.
Alright! This concludes my review of The Pie's the Limit. A fun little short comic to get you into the baking spirit. I recommend this to all my readers. I give this issue a 9.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments section down below.
