My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic issue #57

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we learn just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Todays issue is the 57th entry in IDW's main series. A collab between writer Thom Zahler and artist Tony Fleecs, the story follows Discord and the gang on adventure in his home dimension. After hosting a tea party in his dimension, Discord escorts Fluttershy back home to see her new animal habitat. However, while exiting the portal between dimensions Pinkie Pie end up stranded in Chaosville. It's up to Discord and the others to bring her home. Can they save Pinkie from the madness? Or will the chaos consume her?

Well, for starters it's a Pinkie Pie and Discord related issue. Can't go wrong there. Though, there are some issues when reviewing comics about Discord and Pinkie together. Mostly due to their personalities and how the story tends to go from one point to another. Though I was impressed with Pinkie's look as an alicorn.

I feel like the message here would be to know your limits. Having the freedom to express yourself as creatively as you can is fine. But if you don't learn your limits you often run low on ideas. It's better to pace yourself and know your limitations so you can avoid drying up before you can express yourself.

While I love the pairing between best party waifu and Discord, I think the issue was a bit rough. The story kinda spread everywhere. And pace was to quick. Leaving little to nothing as far as reviewing goes. Though I still support Pinkie for Princess of Chaos 2017.

Alright! This concludes my review of issue #57. Okay as far as character pairings go. But ultimately I'd recommend watching the show instead. I give this issue a 7 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it the comments down below.
