[Season 2] Episode 11: Hearth's Warming Eve... and all was quiet

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we learn about the festive history of our land and just how magical friendship can be. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakee, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Hearth's Warming Eve is the 11th episode of season 2 and 37th overall. Written by Merriwether Williams, the episode is named after Equestrias founding holiday. The story follows Twilight and crew as they prepare to put Canterlots annual Hearth's Warming Pageant. A play detailing the three pony tribes and their struggles for a new land. Could there be more to the tail than just speculation?

I don't have any big problems this episode. Aside from it being more of a seasonal filler, I think this episode was pretty decent. At least as far as Christmas themed episodes go.

I'm thinking the lesson here is to be kind to one another. Share in the warmth of the holidays with your fellow man. Let it be your guide to festive celebration of joy and harmony. All while forging new bonds of friendship along the way.

Surprisingly, Hearth's Warming is actually a ponified version of Christmas. Both holidays share some similarities, such as carolling and gift giving. While there are some differences that seperate them like the stories they inspire. Though both never cease to be any less joyous and peaceful as the other.

Alright! This concludes my review of Hearth's Warming. A warm and fesitive episode. Though I recommend saving it for when Christmas is close. I give this episode a 9.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments down below.
