My Little Pony Micro - Series #10: Luna

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we follow the day of the lunar diarch as she takes on a most trifling opponent. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

The Day Shift is the 10th, and final, of IDW's MLP Micro - Series comic series. Created by writer Katie Cook and artist Andy Price, this issue features my favorite alicorn and best princess Luna as she takes on Celestia's rounds. After accepting her sisters unspoken challenge, Luna takes over Celestias duties for the day. Unwavered by the days scheduling, Luna forges ahead. Determined to see things through. Will she manage on her own? Or has the princess of the night bitten off more than she can chew?

So we've finally reached the end of the micro - series. And what better way to end than with the princess of the night. I loved this issue. Partially cuz of my Luna fanboyness, but mostly cuz it was so comedic. In some ways, it helped make Luna look less like the iron - hooved and stoic ruler most know her as. And I'll be honest here. I got a kick out of seeing her frustration build up. Especially at the end.

I think the lesson here is quite clear. Don't take what you have for granted. Know your limitations well. And most of all, don't take on more than you can handle. You're only one person after all.

Other than the sudden question of " Why did she not take charge to begin with? " I loved this issue completely. Kibitz was a funny addition. Tiberius the oppossum was a cutie. And most of all I had fun watching best princess do what she does best. Learning and growing into something better everday.

Alright! This concludes my review of The Day Shift. An absolute hilarity and a fun read. I recommend to all my fellow Luna fans out there. I give this issue a 9.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments down below.
