My Little Pony: A Charming Birthday
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things Cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today we're celebrating a very special for a very special pony. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
A Charming Birthday is a 22 minute episodic special that was released in generation 3. It was originally released as part of a special package before being re - released alongside an original film in 07. The story followed the citizens of Ponyville as they prepared a surprise party for the smartest pony in town, Kimono. The whole thing is even narrated by Razzaroo, Ponyvilles surprise birthday planner.
There's not much to say about this special to be honest. It was first aired in 2003 as part of a promotional package. And only available through mail order. It was re - released in 07 as a DVD storybook called A Party in Ponyville and was a bonus episode on the DVD The Princess Promenade in 2006.
Frankly I think the episode was marginally entertaining. It had a thoughtful message and a cheerful tone like any other G3 special. But it was regrettbly short and lacked the same appeal its predecessors had. That aside though I still enjoyed the mild humor and a lot of the characters it featured. Even if certain ones made no sense...*cough* Raridash*cough*!
Alright! This concludes my review of A Charming Birthday. An okay episode to watch in my opinion. But I recommend at least watching The Princess Promenade before you do. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments below. This Culture Shock, your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond, saying KEEP CALM AND BRONY ON! PEACE!
