My Top 5: Anime Characters

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today we travel to the land of the rising sun for our top 5 animated badasses. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. Bonus rule, this list will be in no specific order. As such it should not be taken to heart.

Anime, or japanese animation to some, has been a staple of modern pop culture since the golden ages. Back then, most animes were comically dubbed and featured dated artistry and animation. Over the years new and impressive styles have been used to improve the quality of anime completely. Including its characters. With that said here my top 5 favorite anime characters:

1. Alucard-
I know I said this be in no specific order but I had to make this badass number one. Alucard is one of the main protagonists from the hit series Hellsing Ultimate and its OVA. Supposedly the secret weapon of the Hellsing family Alucard is enlisted by its sole member, Integra, to annihilate the threat of a Third Reich. His main arsenal consists of both his natural vampric abilities and two semi - automatic handguns named the 454 Casull and th Jackal. Impressive for the lord of all vampires.

2. Dante-
Dante is the lead character from both the classic Devil May Cry trilogy and its short lived anime. He is the second son to the demon Sparda and the human Eva. As well twin to his archenemy, Vergil. His main weapons include 2 semi - automatic pistols named Ebony and Ivory and a magical blade known as Rebellion. Baddest character in the series if you ask me. Even if he does like strawberry sundaes.

3. Guts-
Mostly known by his epithet the "Black Swordsman", Guts is a former mercenary and main protagonist of the anime series Berserk. After the betrayal of a former comrade Guts begins a journey of vengeance to exact revenge. His weapons include, but are not limited to, his signature sword Dragonslayer, his cannon arm, and the Berserker Armor. I wouldn't wanna meet him in a dark alley.

4. Roronoa Zoro-
Also known as " Pirate Hunter " Zoro, he is a former bounty hunter turned pirate. As swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates Zoro spends most days lounging about the ship with his crewmates. His arsenal consists primarily of three swords. 2 of which are replaced several times throughout the series.

5. Darkrai-
Darkrai is a dark - type mythical pokemon from Generation 4 of the series. His first appearance in the anime was in the movie The Rise of Darkrai. Although his type is mainly dark Darkrai is also a master of psychic and ghost moves as well. And considering his species is called the Pitch - Black Pokemon this is one pokemon you don't wanna meet at night.
