MaleficoMucha Lucha: The Return of El Malefico
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we're brushing up on our Lucha Libre basics. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
Mucha Lucha: The Return of El Malefico is a 2005 direct - to - video animated film featuring characters from the original Warner Brothers series. Directed by Roger Hughart, the film the adventures of Rikochet and company. 1000 years ago, the greatest evil was locked away by the power of Lucha. Years later he has made his return to the world of light. It's up to Rikochet, Buena Girl, and the Flea to stop him. But can they do so before time runs out?
Ah, Mucha Lucha. Back in 2002 Mucha Lucha was an action comedy series that released on the Kids WB. It lasted about 3 seasons before going off - air in 2005. But not before ending with a bang in Mucha Lucha: The Return of Malefico.
This film marked the inagural finale to the series only 3 years before Kids WB was discontinued. It featured the usual cast of celebrities along guest stars such as Tim Curry and Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller.
For all it's worth, The Return of El Malefico is an okay film. It may not be as accurate as real life Lucha Libre. But it's still a fun introduction to traditional masked wrestling and its 3 great fundementals. Honor, tradition, family, and (in this case) donuts.
Alright! This concludes my review of Mucha Lucha: The Return of El Malefico. A good film for fans of the classic WB shows. But I recommend watching the show first if you're new. I give this film a 9 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
