Top 5 Myths and Legends

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we take a look at 5 myths and legends from around the world. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or whatever, don't hesitate to let me know. On an unrelated note, this list will not be featured in any specific order and should not be taken as such. With that said, let's continue. Shall we?

Myths and legends have been an integral part of culture for eons. Though some stories and rumors have either been altered or forgotten it has not effected their appeal over the generations. Today we'll be looking at 5 random myths and legends that are either well - known or a mystery. Let's begin:

1. Bermuda Triangle-
A popular legend, the Bermuda Triangle is a loosely - defined region just west of the North Antlantic. A hot spot for rumors and folklore. Legend has it that when an aircraft or ship passes through the vessel, and it's crew, are never seen again. Leading skeptics to believe its the work of extraterrestrials or the paranormal that causes ot.

2. The Smiling Man-
The Smiling Man is a creepypasta a strange man appears in the middle of the night. He's said to appear with a chilling smile etched on his face and his gaze turned upwards. All while performing a strange dance. So far, all who encounter have come out alive. But still to this day recount the chilling sight.

3. Atlantis-
Atlantis was a fictional island mentioned in the works of the Greek philosopher Plato entitled Timaeus and Critias. Legend speaks that the island was originally a paradise on earth, or utopia, kept safe by its powerful navy. Eventually, however, Antlantis vanished into the sea. Never to be seen again. To this day, sea farers often tell tales of its rumored gravesite.

4. Avalon-
A legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend. It is rumored to be King Arthurs final resting place after his battle with Mordred at the Battle of Camlann. Coincidentally, it is rumored to be the island the fabled sword Excalibur was forged on.

5. El Dorado-
A city steeped in mystery, El Dorado is an ancient Spanish myth about a city said to be made entirely of gold. For centuries, explorers alike have made countless expedition ls in search of this gleaming legend. To this day, no proof has been found of it's existance.
