My Little Pony Micro - Series #6: Applejack

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we learn the true meaning of the holidays. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know.with that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Micro - Series #6 is the sixth installment of the series. A collaboration by writer Bobby Curnow and artist Brenda Hickey, it features Applejack as she and her kin prepare for Hearth's Warming Eve. In the midst of it all, the family recieves a visit from the elusive Sass Squash. Stubborn as usual Applejack swears to catch the creature for her familys sake. But can she catch the uncatchable without her family's aid?

Okay, so this is the part were I usually praise an issue, and I would, but there was nothing really entertaining about this issue. Touching maybe. But ultimately it felt kind of try and somewhat lackluster for a holiday related issue. A sad truth I'm afraid.

The only positive note, however, was the lesson about how the holidays are about spending time with loved ones. It's not about money or labor. Most of all, it's about doing things together. As a family.

I fear I have nothing more to say here. Issue #6 was just a dull story for such a touching lesson. Worst off all, the issue came out in July but depicts a Christmas theme. Ultimately, this is just yet another case of bad timing on the Hasbro and IDW.

Alright! This conludes my review of issue #6. A stale read at best and too dull to recommend. I give this issue a 5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did.
