Cultures Contemplations: MLP the movie 2017
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we'll be sharing our thoughts on the recent trailer to the upcoming MLP film. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever reflect, the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
So, earlier this week Hasbro released the second trailer to the much anticipated 2017 My Little Pony movie. Needless to say, my mind was blown. Just the sheer magnitude of what was in the film had left me stunned and wanting more. Today, I'm going to be going over my thoughts on the recent trailer and what I expect for the film in October. Just a small warning, this review MAY contain spoilers. So if you haven't seen the new trailer, I suggest you do so before reading ahead. Let's begin.
First off, let me talk about the sheer surrealness of the animation and art style. So if you don't already know, and who wouldn't, My Little Pony generations 3 and 3.5 were the foundation of where Generation 4's art style comes from. The movie seems to take it a step further by fusing the traditional art style from the previous incarnation with new and more current up to date animation. Making the colors, designs, and shapes of each character just spring to life. An amazing and otherwise awe inspiring fusion to say the least. Especially when considering the diverse taste of the general fandom.
Next up I wanna talk about the general cast. Specifically the new and remastered characters being introduced in the film. Like the sea ponies who were first introduced in generation one during the first My Little Pony film. Back then the characters were animated to resemble common yet uniquely individual seahorses. In the 2017 film they share a slightly similar resemblance to the Dazzlings Equestrian forms. Only with slight differences.
Lastly, let's talk about the plot. Or rather what we got of it. So judging by the trailer, it looks the main focus of the film revolves around cross world adventure with the main 6. All in attempt to overthrow an invading army lead by the Storm King and led by his second in command, Storm Shadow, and save their home. Definitely an exciting concept when you think about. Especially for a kids movie.
In conclusion, I honestly think this movie will definitely exceed the expectations of fans and movie goers world wide. The trailer alone speaks volumes regarding the overwhelming hype that's been building up since it was first announced. Personally, I expect an and worthwile film that's well worth the wait.
Alright! This concludes my thoughts on the upcoming film and the recent trailer. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates.
