Cultures Contemplations: The Twilight Hour

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we'll be analyzing the pony who rose from nothing to become something. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. So in the beginning of MLP fans were first introduced to gen 4's folklore by a purple unicorn named Twilight Sparkle. Since then, Twilight has been a crucial part to the shows extended plot. As well as the EQG film anthology. But just who is this bookhorse? Well today I thought I'd break down and analyze Twilight as a character, from her origins on up to her coronation and beyond. Please keep in mind that not everything here will be facts as this will be mostly my thoughts and opinions pertaining to the Princess of Friendship. With that being said let's move on.

So first off let's talk about Twilight's origins in the general MLP universe. So, as many fans may know, Twilight was originally inspired from her G1 counterpart of the same name. As well as the aptly named Twilight Twinkle of G3. As such, she was often referred to as Twilight Twinkle in the early scripts. As well as minor parts of the series.

Twilights list of accomplishments, her most notable quality, has been a growing staple of her development as a key character. Some of which were accomplished outside of Equestria. Of course this, in no small feet, is thanks in part to the bonds she shares with closest friends. Which has been a big part of her role in the series and as the element of magic.

In terms of personality, I feel Twilight has grown a lot since her days as a social outcast and shut - in. And, much like her mentor, Twilight has also learned to share the lessons she's learned because of it. Helping others, like Starlight Glimmer, learn to overcome their own issues in the process.

Personally, Idk precisely what the future may hold for Twilight. Or if there is more to her purpose as the Princess of Friendship. But I hope we do get to see more regarding Twilights role in the show as of now. And, hopefully, the upcoming film will help shed some light on that aand more.
