The Simpsons Movie

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we see how the lives of a simple american family can go from bad to worse. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

The Simpsons Movie is an American animated comedy film. Based on the original series by Matt Groening the film featured the original cast of characters like Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and so many more. The film starts off with the Simpsons on their way to church after a tragic end for the towns summer Festival. Things transition on their usual route save for a grave message the families elder member. One that becomes all too true thanks in no part to Homer. With the town facing an ultimate crisis can Homer and his family manage to right this wrong and save everyone? Or is this the end Americas beloved sitcom family?

Well...this happened. Honestly, watching a film like this you often wonder what goes through minds of the people behind it. Then about mid opening you realize the obvious truth. This film is one major gag after another. And I mean the good kind. Not the one you get after a bad piece of candy.

Similar to the series, The Simpsons Movie pulled no punches when it came to comedy. Going as far as to even spoof the government as well as a few box office hits like Harry Potter and Spiderman. Amazing when you consider the minimal storyline the film had.

Amazingly, the film managed to recieve waves of mixed reviews from critics worldwide. Most of which praised the film for its hearty and recognizable humor. While others went on to cry out in disappointment over the films general pacing. Though it still managed to pull in more than $527. 9 million at box offices globally.

In the end, I actually quite enjoyed the film. Sure the comedy wasn't as on point as it usually is in the show. But it still manages to offer wholesome laughs the whole family can enjoy.

Alright! This concludes my review of The Simpsons Movie. Do I regret this film? Meh, I don't hate it. I recommend it to all my readers. I give this film a 7.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
