My Little Pony Micro Series #3: Rarity
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we get ready for a vacation that's less than artificial. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
MLP Micro Series #3, also titled How Rarity Got Her Groovy Back, is the third issue of the slice of life series. Written by Katie Cook and accompanied by artist Andy Price, with a side story by G. M. Berrow, the story features fashionista Rarity in her own small venture. The story follows her she embarks on a small vacation to a special Wellness Center for some much needed R & R. Coincidentally, things aren't as relaxing as they seem. Leading Rarity to have a meltdown. But what happens when she finds out the truth behind the cover - up? And can her generosity save Flax Seed and Wheat Grass's farm?
Once again, another mouthful for a summary about such a small issue. Granted this issue wasn't as bad as Rainbow Dash's was. It just wasn't what you'd expect from somepony like Rarity. Though I did get a kick out of Flax Seeds dazed and confused dialogue. Kinda like Tommy Chong if he was a pony.
If I had to guess the lesson here I'd say it's probably that sometimes we get to caught up in our daily lives that we often overlook the natural things that makes life worth living. Like how instead of focusing on the rewards of her impromptu vacation Rarity focused more on the labor that went into them. Though if she hadn't gone to confront Flax and Wheat then she never would have appreciated just how much time and effort went into the products she herself was enjoying. Completely missing the entire point of her generous nature altogether.
Not for nothing, the issue was okay. Not as fashionable or as glamour as anything relating to Rarity usually is. But much like Rarity like Rarity had learned to appreciate the effort it to be naturally beautiful, I too can accept this comic and all that it contains.
Alright! This concludes my review of How Rarity Got Her Groovy Back. Definitely a modest read about quite the flashiest character. I reccomend only if you enjoy hippies or Rarity looking beautiful. I give MLP Micro Series #3 an 8.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review?
