[ Season 2] Episode 5: Sisterhooves Social...Networking Like Family Should
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today, we're going ringside for the sibling event of the year. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitatate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
Sisterhooves Social is the 5th episode of season 2 of the series. It's also a family drama episode centered around Rarity and her quirky sister Sweetie Belle. After being awoken by burnt food Rarity finds herself stuck foalsitting her sister while her parents are on vacation. Halfheartedly, Rarity accepts and the two are left to themselves. As day one progresses tension grows, forcing the two apart. Will the two reconcile before their bond is broken forever?
I'll just say this straight up. I liked the episode. Sweetie Belle's antics, given her stature in the series, just make you laugh. And the episode didn't holding anything back regarding sibling relationships. Albeit in a cartoonish sitcom style.
The best part was the heartwarming lesson about having a sibling. It's not easy for either side. Sometimes, they can be hard to live with and drive you a little batty. But at the end of the day they're still your family. And that something you could never replace.
It's tough to really say what was episode. To me though, I feel like they kinda layed it on a little too thick. True siblings DO fight and they often lose touch with one another for a while. But not as bad as Rarity and Sweetie did. And honestly though it was heartwarming, it was also a bit cliche to real life scenarios.
Alright! This concludes my review of Sisterhooves Social. A great episode about taking loved ones for granted. I recommend it to familiess in need of counseling. I give this episode an 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also, don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion.for a review? Leave it in the comments down below.
