Episode 19: A Dog and Pony Show...best in show

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. It's time to sharpen up those master swords as we go on a quest to save true love. Before we begin, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's move on. Shall we?

Episode 19: A Dog and Pony Show is a light - hearted adventure episode focused primarily around Rarity. In it, the fashionista gets taken during an important gem hunt with longtime ship, Spike. Fearing for his loves life it's Spike and the others to the rescue. But can they succeed against the subterranean Diamond Dogs?

I think the biggest key detail here is the scenery. Mostly the Diamond Dog tunnels. In a way their layout vaguely resembles the inside of the Changeling hive from the season 6 finale. I think when the artists were looking for rough sketch for the inner tunnels they borrowed from this episode. Efficient but not very original. Though my favorite part was the whack - a - dog scene.

When considering a moral to the episode I'm reminded of the episode Bridal Gossip. Don't judge a book by its cover. In a sense, the Diamond Dogs acted like most bronies had done during their first Rarity episode. They judged Rarity for what she was on the outside and not what was on the inside. And that was their undoing.

Besides the usual negative character spotlighting there wasn't anything wrong with this episode. Though at the same time it wasn't Rarity's best episode. Also as far as imagination goes the main 6, spike included, leaves a lot to be desired.

Alright! This concludes my review of A Dog and Pony Show. A moderately episode at best. I recommend for any Rarity fan. I give Episode 19 a 9 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review.
