My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issue # 41
HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. In todays review we learn how one sour mood can cause a disaster of a day. Before we begin, let's review the rules. Firstly, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?
MLP issue # 41, Rainbow Dash and the very bad day, is a single issue slice - of - life made by writer Katie Cook and artist Andy Price. It follows Rainbow Dash and Tank on a trip to the local bookstore. Along the way a series of events are put in motion, dampening not only Rainbows own mood but the towns as well.
What I most like about this comic is its art style. If you grew up in the 80's and / or 90's you probably remember book titles such as the Bearenstain Bears, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Dr. Seuss. Kids loved how entertaining they were and parents loved how educational they were. Kinda like this issue.
The moral in this issue is both morally strong and informative. Always stay positive. Even when life tries to bring you down. If Rainbow Dash had just been a little more considerate things would have been so much better. For her and her friends.
As nostalgic as the art was I honestly don't think it works for this comic. Made it feel mor like a childrens book and less like an actual comic. Also I didn't like how the dialogue kept switching back and forth. I don't think it so much narrative to be honest. That aside I still liked this issue for what it's worth.
Alright! This concludes my review of Rainbow Dash and the Very Bad Day. A great choice for young readers and parents alike. I highly recommend it. I give issue # 41 an 8 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did. Also don't forget to follow us for more updates. Got a suggestion for a review? Leave it in the comments below.
