My Top 5 Things All Bronies Should Know

Prepare your pencils and get ready to learn as we look at 5 simple facts about our favorite ponies. Before we begin, let's review the rules. Over the years the My Little Pony fandom, or brony fandom, has grown in size and popularity. While some fans are in it for one thing or another, there is a plethora of facts all fans should know. Here is my top 5 facts all bronies should know:

1. Alicorns weren't an original idea-
In its prime, My Little Pony featured a diverse yet small list of character groups. Surprisingly alicorns wasn't one of them. While the show DID feature strong and talented earth, unicorn, and pegasus ponies it wouldn't be till at least generation 4 when Princesses Celestia and Luna were introduced.

2. Lauren Faust left after season 1-
Acclaimed developer Lauren Faust did in fact leave following the end of season 1. While she was also consulting producer for season 2 her work and involvement in the show has since diminished. Though that doesn't stop her from making public appearences at popular conventions.

3. Celestia was originally supposed to be a queen-
Originally, Celestia was planned to carry the title of Queen Celestia. The highest rank in royalty. It was later changed at the companies request.

4. Luna's name was originally Selena-
According to former head developer, Lauren Faust, Luna was originally called " Selena " for a short time. It would change later on due to conflicting legal issues. Though coincidentally, Luna in latin was the name for the Greek moon goddess Selene.

5. Nightmare Moon was originally Discord-
As stated by developer Lauren Faust, Nightmare Moon was originally to be called Discord. A name that was later given to John de Lancie's character instead. No word has been given as to why though.
