Episode 23: The Cutie Mark Chronicles...a story never told

Episode 23: The Cutie Mark Chronicles is a general slice of life style episode featuring the CMC and the mane 6. In it the crusaders decide to track down the best pony they know, or rather Scootaloo knows, to learn how they got their cutie mark. Along the way they meet up with Pinkie, Rarity, Aj, Fluttershy, and Twilight. All of whom share their own cutie mark origins. Till they finally reach the pony in question. Rainbow Dash.

All fairness aside, this was a moderately good episode for a CMC related episode. It teachers viewers a lesson and proves how until Crusaders of The Lost Cutie Mark the best CMC episodes always involved other ponies. Like the main 6. The ending also reminded me a lot of a saying one of my favorite reviewers, Lightning Bliss, has. "Keep an eye out for those. Cuz they will make you smile."

I think the lesson in this episode is simple yet profound. Sometimes our destinies can tie us together. Uniting us a whole and forging friendships before they are even made. Like how Dash's rainboom signified the birth of Equestrias saviors.

Realistically speaking, the episode was okay if not a little boring at times. And Fluttershy's number sounded more like a rehearsed broadway musical. Though I am willing to overlook it since we got to learn more about the mane 6 and just how they found their callings. Stuff like that is always a plus in my book and definitely helps this episode.

Alright! This concludes my review of The Cutie Mark Chronicles. An okay episode for the CMC before COTLCM. I definitely recommend it for fans of the mane 6. I give episode 23 an 8.5 / 10.
