My Top 5 Unsolved Mysteries of MLP

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Time to call up Watson and don your Holmes hat as we look at 5 of MLP's unanswered mysteries. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. Bonus rule: this list is written in no specific order and should not be taken seriously. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

Since the dawn of time and space mysteries have existed all around us. Waiting to be solved. The same sense can be said for popular media like comics and cartoons. That being said here are my top 5 unsolved mysteries in MLP:

1. Celestia and Luna's birthplace-
Since episode 1 season 1 it's been teased that the celestial diarchs were the first natural born alicorns in the shows timeline. Of course due to the birth of Princess Flurry Heart most of what we knew essentially was crushed. However not all is lost. As stated in the season 6 opener by Celestia and Luna Flurry was the 1st alicorn born since the dawning of Equestria. This and many more clues leads me to believe the sisters weren't born in Equestria. They were born elsewhere. The only question now is simple. Where could they be from?

2. Celestia's appearence-
Okay so this is less of a mystery and more of a possible mistake. In most original stories in the series Princess Celestia is always portrayed as an alabaster alicorn with a light pink mane and tail. However! The Celestia seen in the shows present is alabaster with a rainbow mane and tail. Could this be related to her bond with all 6 elements? Or could it be something more? Who knows?

3. The Pony of Shadows-
During a trip to the old castle of the two sisters we were introduced to an Equestrian urban myth. The Pony of Shadows was a spectre of sorts that was said to haunt the ruins of the old castle. Near the end of the episode a shadowy figure appeared against the wall of the old library. Unfortunately that's all we get of that character. No explanation and no big plot reveal. Who are they? Are they malicious? Or are they evil? We'll never know.

4. Applejacks missing parents-
Okay. Now I know rumor has it we'll be getting an answer to this in season 7 but I still think it qualifies. For most of the series Applejack has never been seen with her parents. Nor has her brother, sister, or grandma. Fan theory has stated that her parents likely died while attempting to rescue Applebloom in her foalhood. Is there any claim to this rumor? Well we'll know soon enough.

5. Is Discord Starswirl the Bearded?-
Another popular mystery with supported fan theory. Said theory, futured The Brony Notion's youtube channel, states that at some point in his studies Starswirl attempted to perfect one of his unfinished spells when it backfired. Corrupting him both mentally and physically. So far no evidence has dispriven nor validated this theory.
