My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issues 46 and 47

HELLOOO and welcome to Cultures Compendium of Reviews! As always, I am Culture Shock. Your guide to all things cultural in Equestria and beyond. Today we cast our vote to see just who knows best. Before we begin, let's review the rules. First off, all content within this blog is expressly the opinion of its author. It does not, nor should it ever, reflect the overall opinion of the fandom. Lastly, if any of you notice any mistakes, be it typos or otherwise, don't hesitate to let me know. With that said, let's begin. Shall we?

MLP: FiM issues 46 and 47, aka Election, is a slice - of - life two parter by writer Ted Anderson and veteran artist Agnes Garbowska. The story details the events of Ponyvilles first official mayoral election since the show began. In it savy businesspony Filthy Rich squares off against current electorate Mayor Mare for the political position.

I'll be honest with you readers here. I'm not a fan of politics. Mostly because of the old phrase " power corrupts". Most candidates like to run campaigns by throwing out big promises to sway voters to their side. And then after the election concludes it's the voters who end suffering for buying into false propaganda and deception. These comics perfectly follows this to a tee.

The biggest lesson from this applies to any elections. Don't believe eveything you here. Candidates can talk a big game, promising this and that, but in the end they never pull through. Like how Filthy Ritch promised big changes to Ponyville only to have things fall apart instead.

Admittedly the comic does well to warn readers of the dangers of politics and how they can make the best choice in terms of casting a vote. But homestly I don't care very much for that. Especially considering the recent presidential elections ended in the U.S. This just served to remind that regardless of how things turn out you can't always put your faith in the hands of the political system. You just end up paying for the long run.

Alright! This concludes my review of Election. Despite the negative buzz this was an interesting two - parter and I don't feel any worse for reading it. I recommend it to anyone thinking of registering to vote. I give issues 46 and 47 a 6.5 / 10. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Be sure to leave a like if you did.
